MSU’s Industrial Outreach Service (IOS), and The Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems Extension (CAVS-E) will begin a Lean Certificate Program starting in September 2008. The training will consist of 4 two-day sessions, over a 4-month period. Classes will be offered at 2 locations: One series of classes will be held on the Mississippi State University campus in Starkville, MS, and another series of classes will be held at CAVS Extension in Canton, MS. Slots are open for the Starkville class only. The Canton, MS class is full.

The schedule is as follows:

Main Campus, Starkville, MS:
Session 1: September 2-3, 2008
Session 2: October 7-8, 2008
Session 3: November 4-5, 2008
Session 4: December 2-3, 2008

CAVS Extension, Canton, MS (Class is full):
Session 1: September 9-10, 2008
Session 2: October 14-15, 2008
Session 3: November 12-13, 2008
Session 4: December 9-10, 2008
To be held at CAVS Extension, 153 Mississippi Parkway Canton, MS 39046 (Across I-55 from Nissan)

All manufacturing, engineering, management, and support staff are encouraged to attend.

The training will consist of 4 two-day sessions (i.e., 64 hours of class time) scheduled during a four month period. In addition to the classroom training, each participant is expected to implement techniques and tools provided in this training on an approved project that targets substantial benefits to their respective organizations.  Each participant will receive consulting support both in and outside the classroom to assist with the successful completion of their project. It is anticipated that significant work outside the classroom will be expected in order to ensure maximum results from the student project.

COST/REGISTRATION Information:
Classes are forming for the Fall 2008. One class will be held at the Starkville, MS campus and another will be held at the CAVS Extension campus in Canton, MS. See schedule above. On-site sessions are also available.

participant is $2400 for the 8 day series. Training materials and meals will be provided.

CEU’s are pending approval from MSU’s Division of
